وفي وقتنا الراهن يستمر الملك عبدلله الثاني حفظه الله في السير على خطى آبائه واجداده في الحرص على وحدة الصف العربي ودعم مسيرة التوجه القومي ، فمنذ ت
وليه سلطاته الدستورية في 7 شباط عام 1999م نهج جلالته نهجا قوميا صادقا من خلال : 1-توطيد العلاقات الخارجية للاردن مع الاقطار العربية ، بالزيارات التي قام بها جلالته للاقطار العربية من اجل المشورة وابداء الرأي ، والدعوة لرفع الحصار عن العراق وليبيا. 2-الحضور الفاعل في المؤتمرات واللقاءات العربية . 3-عقد مؤتمر القمة العربي في عمان آذار /2001م 4- دعم حق الشعب العربي الفلسطيني في الحصول على حقوقه ضمن قرارات الشرعية الدولية . 5- الحفاظ عل أمن العراق واستقراره ووحدة اراضيه . 6- تقديم المساعدات الى الاشقاء العرب حال وقوع احداث مأساوية كما حدث في لبنان وفلسطين واحتلال العراق عام 2003 م من خلال الصندوق الخيري الهاشمي ، وارسال مستشفيات ميدانية الى لبنان والعراق ، والدعم المستمر والمتواصل للشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق . 7- الدفاع عن القضايا العربية في المؤتمرات واللقاءات والمنتديات الدولية . ولقد حقق الاردن في عهده الزاهر وما زال الكثير من الانجازات و منها : أ-مجال التعليم : انصب اهتمامه جلالته على ضرورة مواكبة تطورات العصر المتعلقة بالتعليم ، فأمر بتشكيل لجنة ملكية لتكنولوجيا المعلومات ، كما تم البدء بحوسبة التعليم في المدارس في اطار البرنامج الوطني لنشر اجهزة الحاسوب في كافة المدارس ، من اجل رفع قدرات الخريجين التنافسية في عصر المعلوماتية ، بالاضافة الى تطوير المناهج لكافة المراحل المدرسية ، وبناءها على اساس الاقتصاد العربي . ب- المجال : اهتم جلالته ببناء المستشفيات وتطويرها وتزويدها بالكوادر الطبية والتمريضية اللازمة ،وقد تم افتتاح مستشفى الدكتور جميل التوتنجي في مدينة سحاب في شباط عام 2001 م ، كما تم تأهيل مستشفى البشير بأنشاء مبنى بسعة 350 سريرا مخصصة للاطفال والامراض النسائية بالاضافة الى العيادات الحديثة وقاعة للمحاضرات ، مع تزويده بأحدث الاجهزة . كما اقيم مستشفى الامير حمزة بن الحسين في منطق طبربور بسعة 400 سرير ، وفي مدينة اربد تمت اعادة وتأهيل مستشفى الاميرة بسمة ، وانسجاما مع توجيهات جلالته فقد عملت وزارة الصحة على عدة محاور منها : 1.اعتماد مبدأ الرعاية الصحية الاولية وتدعيم خدمات الصحة الوقائية بهدف تحقيق شعار " الصحة للجميع " 2.تنمية القوى البشرية الصحية كما ونوعا . 3.تطوير مجالات البحث العلمي وتوسيعها بما يخدم الاحتياجات المحلية للمجتمع الاردني واحتياجات الاشقاء العرب . 4.اجراء الدراسات بهدف تطوير نظام التأمين الصحي وتحسينه بحيث يحقق الاهداف التي انشئ من اجلها بصورة افضل . 5.توفير العلاج الطبي المجاني للفقراء والمحتاجين من خلال شمولهم بنظام التأمين الصحي .
